Strelitzia

Perennial plants with woody stems or herbaceous plants without stems, forming dense groups of numerous shoots. The leaves are large, leathery, glaucous-green, arranged oppositely in two rows. The inflorescences have the shape of a boat with reddish-brown or burgundy bracts-covers, inside which are spectacular flowers with colored petals and fused sepals.

Exotic appearance and bright inflorescences, similar to sails.
